Hmmm, it sounds like this issue is SIMILAR to one I've had before. When I have grids on a form, I almost always now have a data gathering procedure & a grid building procedure on the form. At times, I could not explain why my grid would exhibit 'readonly' behavior when I had set everything that I knew to set in my buildGrid() method. The solution? I just had to select the alias at the top of my buildGrid() method & then it worked. The dilema for you (if this would even work in your situation) is that you have 2 grids. You can't have both alias' selected at once... there must be a 'real' fix for this, but I thought I'd at least share what vaguely similar experience I do have.

By the way... what the heck time is it over there in Auckland?! <g> It's just after 8AM here in GMT -5 (US Eastern time zone).
