It is certainly a possibility. I wish this was the sort of thing I could point you to the help files on & say "See, this is how it works" but what I've already passed on was just learned by trial & error. Grids can be quirky & tempermental. I have avoided a lot of my headache using the data gathering/grid building methods mentioned a few messages ago, mainly due to the type of thing Terry is mentioning in his replies to you. It helps me control the gathering/re-gathering of data, re-establishing of the record source, and then defining/sizing/etc. the columns within the grid. It seems kinda cumbersome at first to define the column count & the properties for all of your columns in code like that, but it has pretty well eliminated grid related headaches for me. Just 1 fox hacker's opinion here.
