>>Walter, you appear to believe in a just world where people get what they deserve and deserve what they get. This is an unconscious belief rather than a conscious one. It inclines that you try to find the reasons that explain why some terrible things happened, in this case to the States.

>>That country must have done something awkward that caused this attack.

>No, I'm not saying that. But something must have triggered it. There is always a reason. In the case of the US it is hard to ignore its foreign politics and prior wars in various parts of the world. It is not hard to imagine that this might have triggered the seeding grounds for terrorism against the united states.

There is a difference between 'reason' and 'cause'. Reason is always an intent by one or more humans. Cause is the logical precondition, to put it simply, perhaps too simply. For sure there have been behaviors and actions that actually were causal factors. And for sure, certain behaviors and actions can be regarded as negative, by you or by me or by Mohammed or by Joe Dud. But that is not enough to hold the US responsible for 9/11. Doing so is called blaming, only to restore the idea that it is a just world afterall.

>>But reality is that the world is not merely a just place with fine people. There ARE lunatics.

>Sure there are. Hitler was an example. The reason for WWII was more than just hitlers personal believes.

>>There ARE really bad people.

>Sure,

>>There ARE those who strive for dictatorship. And religieous institutions can indeed influence people to believe they are the true ones and the others the devils.

>Sure there are, however you're not going to convince me that the palestinian conflict is the result of all evil people. There is much more to it.

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
"There are three types of people: Alphas and Betas", said the beta decisively.
