>>>That's sort of the common theme with religion, isn't it? We have a group here in this country -- a large and growing group -- which differs from militant Islam only in the theocracy it professes. They want the country to be a Christian theocracy. And they grow ever bolder.

>>Democracy is what it is about! Add the world must be represented by democratic political systems! This is the vision the present United States administration has for the world.
>>
>>Historically, the United States has not always been interested in democracy as a political system for other nations. Vietnam comes to mind. Think of the Geneva Accords (1954), which required democratic elections in Vietnam and the position of President Eisenhower. President Eisenhower felt that the people of Vietnam would vote communist and had the elections cancelled.

>>I thought that it would be interesting if the people of Iraq voted for Saddam Hussein for president. That still is a probability.
>>
>>Now with Palestine having a democratically elected government with Hamas at the controls what could happen? Why how could anyone thing that a democratic nation would attack another nation? Israel has nothing to fear.

>Speaking of our old buddy Saddam, I have been scratching my head the past few days trying to figure out how the courts work in Iraq. You probably heard that Saddam and some others got irritated over something in his trial and got up and walked out. Huh? Can you imagine someone trying to pull that in a U.S. courtroom? It sure would make it easier to deal with little inconveniences like a murder charge, though, wouldn't it? "To heck with this -- I'm walking out!" LOL

Beats the hell out of me too! Saddam won't come to trial cos no-one would let him use a pen, cos the lifts were broken and he had to walk upstairs, cos someone looked at him sideways. I bet they didn't work that way in HIS day! Wait a minute, there weren't any - just ditches.

- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
