After I posted the message, I ran more tests. The component resides in a third party exe, so as I watched the process list, each call to the web method was creating a new instance of that exe. No wonder, it was running out of memory. So I tried to do it within the web method and that problem stopped.
I'm realizing that it is my lack of understanding how the ASP.NET working process calls my web service component. Could you shed some light on that? Or post some helpful links?
