>>The cab driver was a new Canadian who had passed the written exam for citizenship and was to be sworn in three days later. Then he was going to bring his family to Canada. he'd been working 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. It looks like he'll be granted citizenship posthumously.

>Sad story all around. Kids being stupid, as kids as wont to be. As parents, we try to give them room to be stupid without anyone getting hurt.

Well stated. I think we have better conversations about kids than about Israel ;-(
Allie happens to be going through a stupid streak ((c) Richard Russo), which is not atypical of teenagers. There are signs of maturity as well but boy can she be aggravating. No one is getting hurt, as you put it, so I am still looking on the bright side. Emily, meanwhile, continues to sail along like a cruise missile. There are things in her that are so far beyond either of her parents. She's a miracle, and that's not bragging at all.
How are Soloman and Nathaniel doing? Immersed in studies?
