Thanks for responding Geoff. We looked at that originally. Not in this case. In fact, 2 of the workstations were actually sitting at the main form where no files except for one is open. The 3rd workstation had some tables open but none of the same tables as the 4th workstation. This app is running in multi-user configurations at just over a thousand sites with no problems except for this one location. In fact, it has been running for nearly 10 years in different versions but this is the 2nd to most recent version of our app this location is using. We are ruling all the hardware and OS configuration possibilities...

It would typically only happen when the users are in different forms and only when the update occur at the same time. With different loads on the system other sites might not experience the same problems or may have different procedures so the situation may never occur. Killing off one of the programs also typically frees up the others.

Besides, the other workstations were not using the same files or records. Norton Antivirus is disabled for testing. Write cache is turned off on the server and every workstation. Every workstation has at least 512 mb ram.
