In our case the customer has to download a file daily from our https site. The file must be downloaded because it provides payment history for all of our agents' customers as well as up-to-date apr information, etc. Our licenses are dispersed monthly (as in a subscription) and that is downloaded as well. Each of our agents has an agent number that we track them by. Each time a user opens our app on a workstation, the agent number, workstation id, username in our app, and other informaiton is logged with the date to table as well as license information (how many copies they are licensed to use and the version and modules and the build date of the app and other modules). When the agent downloads their file everyday we upload that file in the background as well. Something similar could be done monthly if you do not require a daily communication between your customers and yourself.
