Sorry, I made a mistake in my last reply to you. SELECT * FROM Cursor2 resulted in 0 records, even though Cursor2 contained one record. However, the original record was totally empty (had just been APPENDed), and this is probably the cause of the problem. As soon as I filled one field with 'real' data the SELECT resulted in one record.

I will have to remember this problem for future use. (BTW in answer to your last qn., I am using VFP8 SP1)
