>if you are windows 2k above , at the administrative tools->performance. the basic performance counter are pagefile,Disk Queue, Processor Time. try to run your application then check what counter reaches high, this could be an indication of process queue. I use this tool for me to identify what would the possible hardware to aquire. if you notice this is a high peak on Pagefile, you may have problem on low memory .It is also recommended to put PageFile on a separate Disk . Also read some artice on pagefile on support.microsoft.com. I you notice you have problem in Disk Queue , then try to look on you RAID Disk. Same concept with the processor Time , check also your processor. but there are also some good package from IBM, HP and so that you can also consider.
