Yes, I tried it, and it worked for "my" pdf files created when reports were printed to pdf file via Win2PDF.

I posted here several examples of how to get information from the pdf file when using this method.
The problem with pdf files in your case however is that what you see as a "text" in pdf file may be not a text but a picture; and then you cannot use the pdf text extraction tool.
