>I have been using the WebBrowser control in a form for some time now. It has an annoying problem that is sporadic, sometimes it happens, sometimes it's ok. The init method sometimes crashes with a C00...5 error (I didn't want to type all the zeros). It is a real problem because the users lose data when this happens. It is used to browse info in order to answer a client's questions while in the midst of entering an order. I have written code to simply spawn IE, but my boss would rather see the ActiveX control working instead. Are there any plans on fixing this control. It has been an issue for some time, and sometime last year someone here said that is wasn't fixed in VFP 9 either. I can't understand why Microsoft has let this go for so long. Do you have any encouraging words for me on this issue?

I don't think there are any bugs with VFP or the IE control, it has worked fine for many years for many solutions. I think there is something odd happening on your machine, based on some configuration or components, or maybe in the code being used. Are you using VFP 9.0 SP1, or some older version of VFP? If you run the Task Pane manager, do you see this problem (as it hosts the same web browser ActiveX control). This sounds like one you should contact Microsoft product support about if you can't track it down. I think it is some configuration or component install issue, or some bad or missing code in the use of the control. You might check for KB articles on this, or search here on the UT for threads about it, not sure if anyone else has seen this problem.
