>Hence it is not the word of God. It is the "inspired but many times translated with as much human care possible" word of God. You are placing your faith in man's word, not God's.

>And translated, mind you, by men who have over the ages shown time and again their weaknesses, their evils, their hunger for power and control, and their ruthlessness in executing that power. These are the same men that have so carefully and accurately translated for us the words of God? - never influenced by their contemporary culture, their bosses, their traditions, their language, their pasts, their hopes, their fears, their desires. Always they managed to translate correctly, accurately, and impartially the words of God.
Again, I'm trusting that God has protected His word throughout time and that what we have today is essentially the same as the original writings. Can't know for sure - but - there's nothing we can know for sure. That's where my faith in God kicks in.
