We have a centralized email system for incoming and outgoing email to the outside world. We are now faced with setting up all employees with their own email address so they may send email and receive email directly at the workstations. With this setup, I want to build reliability into it. A few of my concerns are using apps like outlook, usually when the .pst file gets to be close to a GB or some certain size, it will tend to lock up the machine and make it impossible to get in an extract out the email or even look at them again. I was considering the possibility of using VFP to work the email which would give a good opportunity to back these outgoing and incoming email up in tables and such. It would also give us better control at monitoring what is coming in and going out. It would also make it more efficient to run it in our program instead of running a seperate app to do so. I know there are some objects which will allow this ability through Visual Fox Pro, but at this point I would be new to any of these. Is it possible to do these functions through VFP? If so, Can anyone start me off on where I should look or give me a brief plan that I should follow?

Thanks

We could, but I would rather not. Web addresses get more spam and are harder to backup and control. We have a provider and plan on getting an email address from each user for it. Is it possible to send and receive email going through VFP?
