if you can get a card from an old pc even a 386 or 486 you might have some luck with compatability but the driver may still be required on floppy. looking around my office, 5 pc's only one has a floppy and we had to ask for that specifically!

>Good idea, getting the card to work and to find drivers for it might be an issue though.

>>Evan i am sure that you have thought about it, but could you put in a new network card, or an old one from another old pc, that isn't coax?. by the way i'm impressed you still have a working 286, i remember seeing one when i was in secondary school and it really got me interested in computers.

>>>I have a 20 meg image file that I have to get off an old 286's WORM drive. I'm trying to do this without buying any new hardware, but will buy some hardware if I have to.
>>>
>>>- I can't install the WORM drive into a new computer, since none have SCSI cards in them
>>>- I can't copy the data to the hard drive and move the hard drive to a new computer since none of our new computers have SCSI connectors
>>>- the NIC is COAX and we don't have any COAX to twisted pair convertor
>>>- no USB connectors on the old computer to install an external drive or thumb drive
>>>- no ZIP drive, not sure if one would work on that vintage of computer
>>>
>>>The best option that I can think of is perhaps to use PKZIP and a ton of floppies to get the data off.
>>>
>>>Any better ideas how to get the data off?
