Upfront, I'm not a VB person, so I may be just missing these options, so I'd thought I'd ask. VB.Net (.Net in general) is the supposed to be the end-all programing right? So here is some things I don't understand.
1. Why doesn't MsgBox() have a timeout feature like VFP8 (maybe even 7). Seems this should be a native feature.
2. Why isn't there an easy to code SQL-Passthrough. I have a stored procedure that have 10 parameters, it takes about 30 lines of code to define before I call it? VFP sqlexec(gnConnHandle,[exec dbo.myStoredProc ?parm1, ?parm2 etc..) this is short sweet and easy to understand. Maybe you can and I just just know it yet.
3. In vfp, I can create variables that I use for workstation information, not a lot, but 10-12. When I exit the app, I save them to disk and read them back in easily. One command to store them, one command to restore them. I don't have to stream or serialize, or any funky magic.
Just wondering...........
Thanks
