When clicking into a native TextBox that is empty, shouldn't the "I-beam" go to the left (assuming left alignment) immediately? There seems to be a slight, disconcerting delay before it does. Also, if I double-click in an empty TextBox, the field partially highlights, and clicking somewhere in the highlighted region leaves the I-beam at that location. Again, shouldn't an empty, left-aligned TextBox hug the left until something's typed? Furthermore, when the I-beam is at the left in an empty TextBox, I can arrow right and then begin typing _in the middle of the TextBox_.

I would like to implement the following behavior:

1) Force the I-beam to either edge of the control (depending on alignment) until something is typed;
2) When double-clicking the TextBox, do not highlight anything if there's nothing to highlight;
3) Under no circumstances allow arrowing toward the middle of the control is the control is empty;
4) Under no circumstances allow typing into the middle of the control such that doing so creates leading or trailing blanks.

Is this possible? Am I missing something?

Thank you.
