>>The fact is that currently the Europeans are less pro-American - actually more anti-American - than they were some decades ago. What can be the reason? Are the younger Europeans better educated and better informed than the older were? Perhaps. But I think that it's more complicated.

>I think that it might have to do with the american politics and their sense of superiority. From a personal pov I can give you a few reasons why I am critical (do not confuse this anti american though) to the american government.

>- The ease in which they started the war in iraq, but maybe also in vietnam.

There was no ease. It was a though decision. And what do you know about the Vietnam-war? Only words from books.

>- Also related. Their tendency to think with their balls and muscles rather than their brains.

This is not an argument or fact.

>- The seed they sowed with supporting sadam in the 80-ties.

At that time it was not clear to anyone how Hoessein would develop. And Iran was the main enemy of both Iraq and the west at that time.

>- Their way of forcing their viewpoint (I clearly remember a US general critisizing our drug policy)

Did their troops land on our beaches to enforce their view?

>- Hypocrisism in subjects like teen-age pregnancies vs sexual education, gun control vs violence, politics and corruption.

Opinions in a democratic society. You may disagree, but we also disagree with a lot of the decisions taken in our own country.

>- An american president that more look like a clown than a capable leader.

Is this serious? And our prime minister resembles Harry Potter.

>- Conservatism without a sense of reality (why did they not take over the metric system?)

So, this is the ultimate argument (not using our metric system) to prove they are unrealistically conservative? You can do better.

>- Laywer culture.

Yes? And?

>
>To balance this a bit. The following I really like:
>- Their powerfull economy.

Theirs is not more powerful than ours.

>- The positive attitude of the average american, though somethimes with fake friendlyness.

What I don't understand is that an average positive attitude could lead to so many (in your eyes) stupid decisions in foreign policies.

>- Their way more succesfull integration policy.

Yes, I think here we agree.

>- The american dream of achieving wealth by working hard.

Only some will make it come true.

>- Their way of living by spending time with friends and family in a more open way.

Is that true? Aren't you generalizing here?

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
