This was supposed to be to John K. in reponse to his note about executive salaries and bonuses, not to you. Sorry about that.

>>You make about as much money as I do, solidly middle class, why do want to protect the wealthy so much. All things even, the poor are much more in need of our protect. By your own words above "The rich meet their own needs".

>I probably fit into that category too. I want to "protect" the right to become wealthy. It's the wealthy people of the world who make it go round. Granted, of the many I've met, I haven't cared much for them. However, I want to know that if I work my way into wealth that those who refuse to work won't be sucking the life out of me via the tax system. Those who can work should, and those who can't we should help. The problem is too many who can work, don't or won't.

And if you become CEO of a company, then you can lay people off and make those who are left work twice as hard for fear of losing thier jobs too. You can give them attaboy's instead of raises. And when all is said and done, you get yourself a good raise and a huge bonuse because the people working for you will be getting peanuts. More money in your own pot. good work.

And yes, they menials change jobs (some of them), but of course the CEO of the new job feels the same way as you do.

Slavery was a great capitalist concept. I wonder why they ever did away with it? Slavery was run by wealthy people. It should have been respected.
