It is not unusual for a company to purchase another company, fire (down size, layoff, etc.) much of its staff, take tax write-offs and declare a profit. That works until reality catches up with them.

Then it is time for a new CEO (be sure you give many millions of dollars to the outgoing CEO for doing such a fine job) and the entire emphasis of the company is then given a new path. The American Dream in action! :)
