Hi all!
While "cool and fun", to paraphrase Mr. Spock, the needs of the client outweigh the needs of the developer, or the programmer. We don't program so the users generally have freedom to enter data as they see fit. If someone programmed a tool specifically to make this task easier, to reduce the risk of programmer (can't really use "human" there <g>) error, and to make it very clear what is happening, so that you can deliver your product to your clients, then that should be our first choice as professional developers, no?
Drew Speedie made such a hacking tool. You can also use the Class Browser's redefine feature.

>lol. Seriously though, I recently copied & then hacked VFP's native _thermometer class to change it from a form to a container so it could be placed on another form. It worked out quite well. I haven't used/tested it much yet, but I haven't encountered any functionalities that would be form specific & thusly breaking as a container. Vcx, scx, frx hacking is fun!
