It depends on what brand/type of cash drawer your application will be opening, what connection will it use, will it use direct connection to serial port or connected to a receipt printer using LPT or com port.

Using CHR(7) will work but not with other brand of cash drawer, the trigger might be diferent. I posted lately here some POS hardware triggers.
