This could be an installation problem...when you say "the directory area becomes disabled" are you saying the controls at the bottom of the New Web Site dialog become disabled? Does the Web Forms template work properly?

You may want to uninstall MM .NET (Add/Remove Programs) and reinstall again. This takes just a few minutes. If this doesn't work, let me know! It sounds like a problem with the VB Web Service template on your machine.
