The only other way I can think of is to print the double-high characters as graphics. Since at the time I didn't have a drawing program, I typically started with ASCII graphics using ".", ":", "'" and space characters which would then passed through a program that would output the appropriate escape sequences. As for a copy of that program... that's a little difficult... I think it's somewhere on an unlabeled 360K 5 1/4" floppy in a box that's buried under a pile of other boxes (also unlabelled)...
