Strange problem. I'm working on an existing FP 2.6 DOS application. The app has been around for several years and several programmers have worked on it. The problem is that the (Stupid) users are hitting escape to close a screen. I made a change inorder to call a prg.
SET ESCAPE ON
ON ESCAPE DO escsave

I can use the debug window to see value of SET('Escape') and ON('Escape'). The values do not change. In the trace window, when escape is pressed, the read is terminated.

Is this as designed (and I've been away from DOS long enough to forget) or is there a way around this. Unfortunately, disabling the escape key is not an option since it is used through out the app.

Please help!!!
