Forum,

I'm getting ready to embark on the content provision portion of a particular control I've designed, and I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of good articles and discussion on the topic of virtualization. I remember back in the early '90's in the days of DOS, I worked on a project using Clarion Professional Developer and the Btrieve LEM. I developed a virtualization technique for a loading a browse or popup window a "page" at a time, with margins (by page I mean the maximum number of visible records in the window, and by margins I mean some small whole multiple of that number).

I'd like to know how far we've come in the database development world with this technique (which, as I discovered, is rather tricky and involved with a general-purpose language, though not so much now). Any advice?

Thank you.

Eric
