Jay, I had the same problem. However both MS and Quicken import/export QIF files so you only need one file format. The way I solved this was to create an account of each type that I wanted to be able to handle. Then add some dummy transactions to them and then export to QIF format. This gave me the sample layout. The same layout is used to import transactions.
