I don't think we will ever know for sure who won in 2000. All the investigators seemed to agree that the margin of error was greater than the margin of victory.

Ultimately the vote was 5-4 in favor of Bush.


>That is still debated today. Many believe that Gore won the first time around but the Supreme Court put Bush in power. I think fear was the driving factor in Bush's election the 2nd time. Independents, Democrats, and Libertarians voted for him in addition to registered Republicans. When people are afraid, they will first vote for the person they believe will best keep them and their country safe and temporarily put all other issues on a backburner.
