I've been thinking about this for the a few years, the US is the best at everything. I've tried to find a few things that they aren't the best, and posted these at the end of this. I appreciate any comments on this.

Economics:
- it's GDP is greater than the next 5 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_%28nominal%29
- even GDP per captia it is still 3rd

Military:
- by far the strongest and most effective military. It is said that no combination other other militaries can defeat.

Arts:
- music - they invented every new music form in the 20th century (Jazz, Blues, Rock, Rap, Hip-hop, Punk, Grunge)
- movies - more good movies than anyone else (Schlinders List, Munich, Capote, Shawshank Redemption...)
- art - the last great artist with world-wide fame was an American Andy Warhol
- literature -

Science:
- a disportionate amount of Nobel prize winners are American http://www.aneki.com/nobel.html
- the most varied and innovative space program

Human Development
- pioneers in women's equality http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_women%27s_suffrage
- pioneers in civil or minority rights
- pinoneers in indivual rights

Sports:
- most Olympic medals of any country by far http://www.olympic.it/english/medal
- has a few sports leagues made of of the world's best athletes (basefall, football, basketball, and one of the top for hockey)

The only things I can think of that they aren't the best at:

- cars: Europeans make the better, the Japanese make they better and cheaper
- peaceful diplomacy: this is a weak one, but the Americans are a little to quick to war. I can't prove this one, so I am willing to withdraw this.
- quality of life - on these types of indexes, the US can either be in the bottom of the top 10 or out of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index
