I've been softening up my wife to spend a thousand or more on tickets. I think that is what you said you spent. I will try to do all this, it will be nice since our daughter will be 5 years old by then and will understand and be able to enjoy some of the spectacle of the Olympics.

The Olympic Villiage will be just a few hundred metres from our condo, so we will be in the thick of things.

One unfortunate note though is that my mother-in-law was a prolific volunteer and had already started to volunteer for the early Olympic organizing groups. She was so looking forward to the experience, but passed away in 2005.
