I have no idea if this problem also exists in VFP6 SP5, but it is worth a try. AFAIK, the sys(1004) function was already implemented in VFP6, but at that time undocumented.

The described error was present in VFP8 and only got fixed in VFP9SP1. I could imagine that this problem already existed in earlier versions as it seems to have to do with transactions and dirty buffers.
