I have no idea how you are comparing one specific shared project and 'community' as the same thing. Feel free to explain why you think having all offered source code bases combined into one open project, even if there are no volunteers to enhance the code base, benefits the community. Splitting up the management and location of a specific code base has nothing to do with splitting up a community of people.
