I hope the real America wakes up. With this cr*p about the ports, the torture, the grab at presidential power.

I was talking to a coworker today about this. The article I mentioned before in this months New Yorker about the torture mostly followed one govt lawyer who was outraged the moment he heard how prisoners were being treated at Guantanimo. His parents had to escape from their homeland several times, including Nazi Germany and Cuba.

There is a constant refrain from people here like Dragan, and in other places. People who have an eastern european background have heard the same rhetoric before. And it can not be tolerated. I cant believe so many people have forgotten their history. We've seen this too many times before in history. And the outcome is never good for the country.

If you would have asked me about America having a govt like this 10 yrs ago, I would have vehemently denied that it could ever happen.
