"Reprogramming" could be minimal if the VFP5 app is properly done. You might run into a little trouble with SQL commands and GROUP BY clauses but those should not be difficult to fix. There is also, the SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR command although it is a quick stopgap measure and not a fix.

I assume your old VFP5 app (that comes from an FP2.x app as you say) is already Y2K compatible. If not you'd have to fix that too, but SET STRICTDATE will be a big help there.

[UPDATE]: I also noticed in the message header that your app runs under Win98. That should get you into a whole different set of problems. You should upgrade to WinXP.
