Hi Gaylen.

>It is obvious that some people responding on UT are making statement without knowing a lot about ActiveVFP. I've used it and all the source code is there. The Pay Pal reference is a rather cheap shot and I have seen other comments to that effect on UT in an effort to get back at Claude, as he can be a forceful person at times.

It wasn't intended at a cheap shot -- it was a statement of fact. Given that we weren't provided source code (at least none was obvious -- maybe we didn't dig into every single folder enough, but we're volunteers with limited time, so things need to be a little more obvious) and that ActiveVFP used to be a commercial product and given the PayPal link it wasn't clear that it still isn't, we were concerned that this was an attempt to promote a commercial product through a community forum like SednaX.

>I fear the resistance to the ActiveVFP being included is that it is in direct conflict with other retailers of similar products. If that is the case then just say that. Just say the SednaX project will not be in competition with other third party vendors.

I can honestly say, though, that while we did discuss that aspect, that wasn't the overriding factor in our decision to reject ActiveVFP. Perhaps it was just a bad, unclear submission by Claude and if it was done differently, it may have been accepted.

>At the same time I encourage you to rethink your position on ActiveVFP.

Given the unprofessional behavior and personal attacks by Claude, I don't think that's going to happen. I for one am not interested in working with him. If that makes me a bad candidate for administrator, I'll gladly step down and let someone else take on the role.

What I don't understand is the firestorm this has created. SednaX is just one Web site for community-based projects. ActiveVFP has its own Web site and its own followers. There are lots of downloads available here on the UT, on my Web site, on Craig's Web site, and hundreds of other VFP-related Web sites. Why does SednaX have to the "Neo" (aka the "One") place for everything? Craig's vision in creating SednaX won't be everyone's vision. We feel we have a certain goal (which I think we've done a better job of communicating now) and one of them is to provide a forum for new, community-based projects. That doesn't mean every project will fit, but not being part of SednaX isn't a death sentence.
