I am installing a new instance of SSE through my app. My plan is to put the data (*.mdf) and the log (*.ldf) file in a sub directory of the application (C:\Program Files\myApp\Data) instead of in the "default" place (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data).
Is my proposal considered bad practice? Any reason not to do what I plan to do?
The reason I want to do what I propose to do is to keep every thing that belongs to my app in the "same" place.
Any thoughts are welcome.
