AFAIK no one touched the file after the crash but me. I made no changes and simply copied the affected table to a local hard drive where I investigated it. I renamed the crashed DBF, CDX, and FPT files and they are still on the server.

There are people who can access the data directory but I don't think they have any tools that could truncate a file that size.

Strange, huh?
