It is really easier to load balance several Citrix servers. It truly is a mater of install the software on a new server, point it to get the configuration from one of the previous ones and is mostly done.

TS allows you to load balance serves also, but it is not so easy. The difference is the additional price you pay for that power. I've seen many business settings where the advantages of Citrix pay for itself in a couple months, but it all depends on the context.
