Well, the initial cause is a virus, but the lasting damage to the 7th cranial nerve is what causes the paralysis. This can take weeks, months and sometimes years to go away. I know of at least 500 people on one website who would love to know about any oils that can get rid of it quickly, though I have my doubts, given all that I've researched in the past week.
