I got this working now.. but still with a few quirks:

1)I started with Zebra's own universal driver - didn't work at all
1a) Changed to zdesigner driver - started working but then stopped - don't know why - labels were blank
1b)Got drivers from seagullscientific/bartender - heard they make the best drivers. Labels started working.
1c)Labels stopped working again - instead of printing blank - only top line of label printed - very bizarre.
1d) Realized that it stopped working when the label printer was not set as the default printer. Now client is using the application, but they must set the printer as the default, manually, in control panel, before printing.

Now I am working on either a)Getting it to work without the printer being the default or b) writing vfp routine to temporarily set printer as the default - then switch back again after done printing

Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks

>I used Zebra, but I used codes without the printer driver. If it's printing blank then there is a problem with the driver. Their test system uses a totally diifferent drivers.

>>vfp 8 label designer. Using the zdesigner s600 driver. Printing a test page from the windows driver works. I am using direct thermal, no ribbon.

>>When I try to print to the printer I get blank labels.. the correct number but blank - e.g. I tell my app to print 1 it prints one blank, I tell it to print 2, it prints 2 blanks. 4x6 labels,in landscape.

>>I am wondering whether it (the printer) thinks it is to supposed print with a ribbon? The driver is setup for direct thermal.. so I'm not sure why this would be a problem.

>>zebra's own diagnostic test bar code labels print fine.
