Actually, if you're referring to the 2nd time John got bounced, I was the one who made the post. Rod told me I could use his name as a co-signer, and then Rod posted it as well, both on the UT and on his website. This from the person who claimed he had no recollection of any such event, insisted he wasn't being coy, and told me I was the one dancing around being tricky.
The issue is that had "Joel Rigby" called on another member to draw attention to his issue, the rules would not have been broken and the issue of propriety would not have overwhelmed the issue of principle he wanted to discuss. I guess passionate people sometimes do things they regret later. I also think that some people perceive this vulnerability and try to provoke a reaction, though that's not what went wrong on this occasion.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
