Thanks for all your input.

Suprisingly, they assure us that no reports offer a disk option, I thought about outputting to PDF and then converting that to text.

However, through trial and erros, I worked out a record length and therefore can read all the character & numeric data, but not the binary.

That means I can read enough (I think) to import what the cleint wants.
