You'd think it would be easier for Canada to get a handle on it than the U.S. since we don't have a 3rd world country on our border, but for some reason, Canada seems to be really bad at figuring out how to handle illegals. Far too often they seem to be allowed to simply jump the queue. It's funny when you think about it. many of the same people who argue against allowing the wealthy to jump the health queue are the same ones arguing that, "oh, well, as long as they're here already, why not just get them to fill out the apps and fast track them. Gotta make the those with legal applications waiting for a year or more feel good. For the record, I am opposed to both practices.

>Absolutely. Other times he/she is actually placed on a bus and driven across the border. They spend a half day waiting for the return bus and come right back. They found out pretty quickly though that if their child is born here then they will not be deported because their child is a legal citizen of this country. You wouldn't believe the number of pregnant women crossing the desert to deliver their babies here in the states. That is the saddest of all. Other times the women comes and delivers a baby and then when she cannot be deported her entire family arrives later. Keep in mind these families typically have 6-7 children and include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc as well.

>>>Sheese Walter, do some more research. I am not whining about the things you claim to think that I am. We DO educate our illegal immigrants - I am not complaining about that. Everyone in this country receives education. I am complaining that they receive their education for free - even sometimes higher education - while the citizens who pay taxes do not. I must pay for my daughter's school supplies (required), sometimes school uniforms, and imminuzations as well. Illegals do not. Also, our tax is not structured like yours is. Only state and municipal taxes are collected from goods and services. The majority of the taxes I pay are not paid when purchasing goods or services (except in the case of gas), but are INCOME taxes. They come directly out of my paycheck. Illegal immigrants do not pay income tax unless they illegally work under someone else's social security number or have a green card. Most are paid 'under the table' and pay not taxes at all. I am an advocate of the
>>>FAIR TAX and that is one of the reasons. Illegal immigrants are a large percentage of the crime including stolen vehicles. They are routinely released out on the streets while legal citizens are not. They do receive free medical care, and I do not. I have many friends who work in the medical field and they treat the illegals and provide more medical care to them than they do to those who cannot pay and are a citizen of this country. They complain more than I do. Just as Purdue busses them in, the hospitals treat them. The average citizen probably knows nothing of this. I have been to Europe a number of times and lived in Germany for 3 years. I drove to France, Italy, Spain, and to Holland twice. One of my favorite places as a matter of fact. I am well aware of the lack of border security. You also don't have the equivalent of a 3rd world country on your border with hundreds pouring into your country everyday. I studied the history of my country and I am very well aware
>>>that it was founded by immigrants. The problem is that it cannot hold all of those who wish to come here and we do not have a socialized system that is capable of taking care of them. I was always one of the 'let anyone who wants to come here come' beleivers until 9/11. Now I think we need a more controlled access in order to verify who is here and why. It only makes sense. A sad sort of sense, but sense nonetheless. Either that or all of the law abiding citizens emmigrate to another country. Are you accepting Americans over there???? I doubt I could just arrive and get a job and a place to live, free schooling, and medical treatment for free, right?
>>
>>Do you also have the problem of finally getting a deportation order for an illegal only to discover 3 or 4 years later that the immigration department doesn't really know whether the person is gone or not? And if they discover that he hasn't yet gone, they don't know where he is anyway?
