Here is another spooky phone call, received by a friend just last week. It was from some scamster with a disguised number (UNKNOWN NUMBER / UNKNOWN NAME on Caller ID) and a thick foreign accent she guessed was Nigerian. That wasn't the spooky part, since he could have been dialing numbers randomly, dialing them in sequence, etc. Even the fact that her number is unlisted wouldn't have helped her there. The spooky part was the name the caller gave was the name of her dead husband. Given that both her phone number and street address are top secret (her mail goes to a mail drop), what are the odds this creep would have used that name? Cue the Twilight Zone theme song....

>A few years ago we got a phone call with the party saying, "You phoned us earlier and I'm just returning the call to find out who it is" (using automated call-back). I recognised the voice as one of our friends but could confirm that we hadn't actually called him.

>It turns out my toddler daughter had used the phone but how she hit his number I don't know; the number wasn't stored on the phone on speed-dial so I can only assume she'd hit his number at random. But of all the numbers in the world ...
