Our son was four and our daughter was two when I discovered the two of them at my computer – trying to be daddy. I told them to never touch my computer, which they obeyed. Shortly after that I got them an Apple II e, and they were off and running! They had lots of fun and learned a great deal about computers.

One day when our son was 8 and our daughter 6, we went to the local utility company to pay a bill. The kids ran over to a ladies desk, which had a keyboard, monitor and a computer that was turned on. The lady was about ten feet from her desk. She said, “Oh how cute! Let them play with my computer”! I said, “Lady, if you do not want to loose all your data you would not let them near your computer”! That got the ladies attention! I asked the kids to stand by me and the data from another hard disk was saved! :)

I will not comment on the things that I did as a young child. I liked to take things apart. My mother liked to remind me from time to time of the end result! :)
