Generally, my customers input codes in DOS applications: code for articles, code for supplier, code for cliente..... and can browse by code, name or anything... In a screen, a user see and input the code, and see the traduction/name of the code.
Now, with Visual Fox, we can input in a combo box that list the supplier table, for example. If the combo show (in the text part) the code, the user not see the name, until the open of the combo's list part. If the combo show (in the text part) the name, the user cannot input the code...
One solution is combo box that show code, that links to code and name in supplier, and that in the validate event, and refresh an auxiliary read-only text box with the name of the supplier. But is this a solution?
Any ideas?
