Actually, the second one is the "correct" behavior. The Toolbar doesn't get focus, so clicking that button doesn't let your entry box know that it needs to update its data. There are various solutions to this: one is to put _SCREEN.ActiveControl.SetFocus() in your button's click event before the update code.

I don't know why the first form is working, though.....
