The information security policy is still in place but now there is an actual group policy configured for the domain which automatically locks idle workstations after 5 minutes of inactivity. This is set when the user logs into the domain automatically. Gets frustrating when you are sitting at your desk and take a phone call - your workstation locks on its own very often!

Tracy;

When your computer locks due to 5 minutes of inactivity, management receives an alert in the form of eMail, Cell Phone, and Pager. Who is the offending party? Why did this occur? What was the offender doing?

If you work for a private company you must fill out in triplicate an appropriate form to justify your lack of keyboard activity. Sixteen copies are required for the Federal Government. The form count will vary according to the industry.

Big brother is watching! :)
