My experience, is very limited till date, I had kept those link for a further use.
I've only created 2 simple spreadsheets with success.

The only inconvenient is the fact that Open Office takes a lot of time to load, when comparing to MS OFFICE. The last version of OO is very stable, and you can work without any problems. There's also the new Beta version 2, but I've not tested it yet.
