Well, we took over their government for a start. I could go on and on with that, but the truth is we did conquer them, toppled their government and set up a new form of government (along with the UN). The fact that there are still terrorist attacking the troops isn't germane to the argument.
As I've said before we will be there until the government is stabilized, then we will withdraw to Iran.<g>
